The National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) peer review took place at NBS, situated in university’s main campus in sector H-12 Islamabad from 04 Dec 2019 to 06 Dec 2019.
The peer review team (PRT) had detailed formal and informal discussions with the Lieutenant General (retired) Naweed Zaman, HI (M), Pro rector academics, Dr. Naukhez Sarwar , Principal and Dean NBS, Dr. Asfia Obaid, HoD, Management Sciences Dept. while reviewing the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) in detail. The PRT also had the opportunity to discuss the overall vision, mission, and strategy of NBS and NUST with the Vice Chancellor. The team further met with faculty members, senior administrative members, and other functionaries to assess that how the school is maintaining the quality under various dimensions that are included in the NBEAC standards. The team also met students of programs under accreditation (i.e. BBA, BS and MBA) along with alumni besides visiting NBS physical facilities like the library and computer laboratories. The PRT members sat through some class sessions and informally interacted with the students in the walkways and after classes.
The members of the peer review team (PRT) were, Dr. Zaki Rashidi (Director ORIC and Associate Dean Accreditation, IQRA University, Karachi), Dr. Farooq-e-Azam Cheema (Dean , Bahria University, Karachi), Dr. Iftikhar ul Amin (Assistant Professor, Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar), Dr. Safdar Husain Tahir (Chairman, Lyallpur Business School, Govt. College University, Faisalabad), Mr. Bilal Nawaz (Senior Relationship Manager (VP)- Commercial and SME, The Bank of Punjab), Ms. Sania Tufail (Senior Program Manager-Accreditation, NBEAC).
A verbal feedback was provided to the business school at the end of the visit. A detailed report along with the accreditation decision communicated to the business school after the Council Meeting

NBEAC has three main functions: accreditation, training and networking. In its accreditation function, it develops and implements standards to improve the quality of business education in Pakistan. In its training function, it provides opportunities to faculty and managers to learn about quality standards and related matters. In its networking function, it provides a forum for business education professionals to learn from each other through conferences and seminars.
