The National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) peer review visit took place at the Hailey College of Commerce, University of Punjab, Lahore from 18th May 2022 to 20th May 2022. The objective of this visit was an in-depth review of the Business School based upon the nine key standards of NBEAC.
The peer review panel (PRP) held detailed formal and informal discussions with Vice Chancellor (Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar), Principal (Dr. Zulfiqar Ahmad Bowra,), Pro Vice-Chancellor (Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar), Focal Person (Dr. Fouzia Hadi Ali), Registrar, Director QEC, Director Admission office, Exam controller, different Administrative Heads, faculty members and students while reviewing the self-assessment report in detail. PRP also had the opportunity to discuss the overall vision, mission and strategy with different stakeholders to understand how the school was addressing the various dimensions that are included in the NBEAC standards. The members of the peer review team (PRT) were Dr. Abdul Raziq (Professor, BUITEMS, Quetta), Dr. Shahid Mir (Assistant Professor, IBA Karachi), Dr. Awais Mehmood (Assistant Professor, Bahria University, Islamabad), Mr. Shah Jahan (Sales head, DAWN Bread), Mrs. Sania Tufail (Senior Program Manager-Accreditations, NBEAC).
A detailed report along with the accreditation decision will be communicated to the Institute after the council’s 30th meeting.

NBEAC has three main functions: accreditation, training and networking. In its accreditation function, it develops and implements standards to improve the quality of business education in Pakistan. In its training function, it provides opportunities to faculty and managers to learn about quality standards and related matters. In its networking function, it provides a forum for business education professionals to learn from each other through conferences and seminars.
