NBEAC conducted a webinar for universities to discuss challenges business schools face to get NBEAC accreditation. Online seminar was conducted on 15th of September 2021, led by Dr. Farrukh Iqbal- Chairman NBEAC and co-hosted by Dr. Zaki Rashidi and Dr. Hamid Hasan who are also serving as NBEAC’s senior peer reviewers and mentors. 

It was an opportunity for business schools to discuss the minor and major challenges usually faced by them to get NBEAC accreditation. Business schools should seek accreditation to improve the quality and standards, to take timely quality improvement measures and to differentiate themselves from other schools. Universities in general and business schools in particular got benefited from the webinar as the issues raised by them regarding hiring of faculty, financial autonomy and infrastructure development were thoroughly discussed and addressed by the panel of experts including Chair PRT and Mentors.

Around 25 Deans, HOD’s and senior faculty members from 20 different business schools participated in webinar. Main purpose of conducting this seminar was to reach out unaccredited members in order to get a sense of their concerns about the accreditation process and provide information about the process that may not be well understood.

NBEAC has three main functions: accreditation, training and networking. In its accreditation function, it develops and implements standards to improve the quality of business education in Pakistan. In its training function, it provides opportunities to faculty and managers to learn about quality standards and related matters. In its networking function, it provides a forum for business education professionals to learn from each other through conferences and seminars.
