Workshop - “Impact assessment of initiatives and activities undertaken by business schools” 

What will you learn in this Workshop?

This workshop will enable you to develop better understanding of the principles, procedures and methods that are used to assess and report the social impact of various initiatives undertaken by business schools. The workshop will focus on larger issues related to business school initiatives, managerial issues as well as statistical methodologies to assess their impact. The agenda of workshop includes:

  1. What is social impact measurement and what is its purpose?
  2. How do we deepen understanding of the specific practices and methodologies that established impact evaluators and investors are using to measure the social impact generated through initiatives made by business schools, and to analyse the conditions under which each measurement method is most relevant?
  3. Why is it important to measure the social impact of business school?
  4. Who are the key stakeholders in social impact oriented initiatives of business schools? What is stakeholder-based approach to social impact measurement?
  5. What are the current trends in social impact measurement?
  6. How to utilize different frameworks, tools, techniques and innovations for measuring social impact of business schools initiatives?
  7. Measuring the social impact of business schools: a few examples.

Notes:

  1. Workshop/Seminar Registration Fee: 10,000 /-PKR.
  2. In case of replacements, transfer and refund, participant should officially notify via email/letter to NBEAC 10 working days prior to the workshop. After that NBEAC will not entertain any claims and changes.
  3. NBEAC may cancel or postpone a workshop/program due to insufficient registration or unforeseen** circumstances. In this case, NBEAC will refund registration fee but will not be responsible for any other related expenses including cancellation charges by airline and travel agencies.
  4. In case of postponement, the fee may be transferred to the rescheduled offering of that workshop or any other workshop as an alternate to refund. The NBEAC reserves the right to make changes in its program policies and fees at any time.

** If unforeseen circumstances occurs during the workshop and one day before the scheduled workshop, NBEAC will not refund the registration fee.

NBEAC successfully organized a workshop on “Impact assessment of initiatives and activities undertaken by business schools” on 18th February 2020 at PAFSOM Arena, Islamabad.

The workshop was aimed to develop an understanding of the principles, procedures and methods that are used to assess and report the social impact of various initiatives undertaken by business schools. It was designed to create an opportunity for participants to understand the frameworks and tools to consider while measuring the social impact of various activities. Furthermore, it encouraged them to share the best practices that were already adopted by business schools in Pakistan to report their societal contribution.

The consultants for this workshop was Mr. Muhammad Ali Iqbal (General Manager, Ignite) and Mr. Zain Chaudhry (Economist, University of Heidelberg). The workshop was attended by 21 participants representing different business schools all over Pakistan having a proper mix of public and private institutes.
