Workshop - “Financial Models of Business Schools” 

Purpose:

The top academic leadership of the University, Institute or Business School sets the direction for the strategic positioning, organizational culture and long-term direction. A Business School must a clear direction and financial viability for a sustainable growth and meaningful impact. The program shall help understand the essence of a locally and globally competitive marketplace. It will discuss challenges and opportunities of research, teaching and mixed focused business school, both in public and private sectors. Also, the program shall examine the current cost and revenue models of various business schools in Pakistan. Moreover, the program will conclude with a discussion on rationalizing the costs and improving the revenues of a business school.

3. Management practices of national and international benchmark institutions.

4. Challenges and opportunities of rationalizing costs and enhancing revenues.

Notes:

  1. Workshop/Seminar Registration Fee: 7000/-PKR.
  2. In case of replacements, transfer and refund, participant should officially notify via email/letter to NBEAC 10 working days prior to the workshop. After that NBEAC will not entertain any claims and changes.
  3. NBEAC may cancel or postpone a workshop/program due to insufficient registration or unforeseen** circumstances. In this case, NBEAC will refund registration fee but will not be responsible for any other related expenses including cancellation charges by airline and travel agencies.
  4. In case of postponement, the fee may be transferred to the rescheduled offering of that workshop or any other workshop as an alternate to refund. The NBEAC reserves the right to make changes in its program policies and fees at any time.

** If unforeseen circumstances occurs during the workshop and one day before the scheduled workshop, NBEAC will not refund the registration fee.

NBEAC successfully organized an online training titled “Financial Models for Business Schools”. The training was scheduled on 8th of September 2020 (04.00PM -07.00PM PST). The training focused on the importance of strategic planning and positioning, constraints and opportunities faced by public and private schools, best practices in financial strategies for business schools and implications of digital teaching for business schools. The training was organized in a way that it focused on the general concepts and a review of international experiences and best practices. First session was led by Dr. Mujtaba Mian, who is serving as a Professor at College of Business, Zayed University, Dubai. Later, Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, Chairman NBEAC discussed relevant aspects of experience by presenting a new financial strategy of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, during the period 2010-20. The training session was concluded with the facts that Strategy and positioning are primary drivers of financial models, business schools need to diversify revenue streams in the face of competition and changing trends, and effective infrastructure and attention to budgets are important.


The training was attended by around 35 Vice Chancellors, Rectors, Deans, Directors, Department Chairs and Associate Deans representing different regions all over Pakistan.
