The Training and Development wing of NBEAC successfully conducted a two-day training program on the “challenging role of the business school faculty” held on 14th & 15th of September, 2023. More than 30 participants including Deans, HOD’s, Directors and Senior Faculty members attended the training. Dr. Naukhez Sarwar, Principal and Dean of NUST Business School, and Dr. Shaukat Brah, Former Rector and Dean of Karachi School of Business & Leadership (KSBL), provided valuable insights into best practices related to the impact of faculty roles, particularly within educational institutions, including business schools.
On the first day of the training program, the emphasis was on exploring the faculty's role and its significance, as well as addressing the challenges faced by business schools. The discussions covered topics such as teaching excellence, student development, institution and program development, the evolution of new business models for business education, digital strategies, and the importance of maintaining quality and integrity.
On the second day, the program shifted its focus to faculty development and strategies for retention. The discussions extended to the challenges and opportunities associated with accreditation. The day concluded with a constructive discussion on the cultivation of a strong business school culture and brand, as well as the generation of key ideas for subsequent implementation. Additionally, faculty impact assessment was deliberated as part of this comprehensive study.
The event was exclusively hosted by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) Islamabad. Head of campus Mr. Khusro Pervaiz was the special guest at the closing of event accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Asif, Associate Dean, Management Sciences Department.
