NBEAC successfully organized an online training titled “Financial Strategies for Business Schools”. The training was scheduled on 16th of August 2020 (03.00PM -06.00PM PST). The training focused on the importance of strategic planning and positioning, constraints and opportunities faced by public and private schools, best practices in financial strategies for business schools and implications of digital teaching for business schools. The training was organized in a way that it focused on the general concepts and a review of international experiences and best practices. First session was led by Dr. Mujtaba Mian, who is serving as a Professor at College of Business, Zayed University, Dubai by introducing the strategic concepts and presenting a comprehensive review of international experiences and best practices through analysis of different cases. Later, Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, Former Executive Director IBA discussed relevant aspects of experience by presenting a new financial strategy of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi. The training session was concluded with the fact that Strategy and positioning are primary drivers of financial models, business schools need to diversify revenue streams in the face of competition and changing trends, and effective infrastructure and attention to budgets are important.
The training was attended by around 30 participants including Rectors, Deans, Directors, Department Chairs and Associate Deans representing different regions all over Pakistan.
