Workshop - "Accreditation Strategies: Understanding the Revised NBEAC Accreditation Standards"

Introduction:

The workshop is designed to impart an understanding of the newly introduced NBEAC standards (Version 4.0). These standards will be effective for the reviews held from Spring 2025. The workshop also highlights the spirit of the NBEAC accreditation as a quality assurance outcome and delves into the accreditation strategies and process. The workshop is designed to cater to the needs of the faculty members/managers of the business schools undergoing the accreditation review starting January 2025. The workshop learning will equip them with knowledge of seven areas of newly introduced accreditation standards and the strategies and processes to attempt accreditation.

Learning Outcomes:

This learning session will help the participants to understand and learn:

  • The concept of quality assurance at the HEIs and its impact on the HEIs' performance.
  • The nexus between quality assurance and the accreditation process.
  • The NBEAC accreditation process and roadmap.
  • Strategies to efficiently pursue NBEAC accreditation.
  • Details of the seven performance areas of the NBEAC accreditation standards, their structure, composition, requirements, and the means of their fulfillment.

Who Should Attend:

The workshop is designed for business schools whose accreditation review will be held in Spring 2025 and beyond. Accordingly, Deans, Associate Deans, Heads of Departments, NBEAC focal persons, QEC personnel, those responsible for accreditation, etc., in these business schools will find value in participating in this workshop.

Notes:

  1. Workshop Registration Fee: 35,000/-PKR.
  2. In case of replacements, transfer and refund, participant should officially notify via email/letter to NBEAC 10 working days prior to the workshop. After that NBEAC will not entertain any claims and changes.
  3. NBEAC may cancel or postpone a workshop/program due to insufficient registration or unforeseen** circumstances. In this case, NBEAC will refund registration fee but will not be responsible for any other related expenses including cancellation charges by airline and travel agencies.
  4. In case of postponement, the fee may be transferred to the rescheduled offering of that workshop or any other workshop as an alternate to refund. The NBEAC reserves the right to make changes in its program policies and fees at any time.

**if unforeseen circumstances occurs during the workshop and one day before the scheduled workshop, NBEAC will not refund the registration fee.

[Karachi, November 28, 2024] – A two-day workshop, “Accreditation Strategies: Understanding the Revised NBEAC Accreditation Standards,” is being held by the National Business Education Accreditation Council in collaboration with the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi. The event brings together senior faculty members and university administrators to explore the latest accreditation standards introduced by NBEAC (Version 4.0).

Facilitated by Dr. Farooq-e-Azam Cheema, Provost at KSBL and Vice Chairman of NBEAC, the workshop focuses on equipping participants with a comprehensive understanding of the revised accreditation framework, covering seven key performance areas and actionable strategies to efficiently navigate the accreditation process.

The workshop is designed to empower participants with a comprehensive understanding of quality assurance in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and its impact on institutional performance. It provides valuable insights into the relationship between quality assurance and the accreditation process, offering a clear roadmap for navigating the NBEAC accreditation journey. Participants will gain strategies to efficiently pursue accreditation under the updated standards while acquiring detailed knowledge of the seven performance areas outlined in the NBEAC standards, including their structure, specific requirements, and methods for ensuring compliance.

The workshop has drawn over 50 esteemed participants, including Deans, Associate Deans, Heads of Departments, NBEAC focal persons, and QEC personnel from universities across Pakistan.

This initiative is generously supported by leading institutions, including NUST, The University of Lahore, SZABIST, Forman Christian College, Lahore Garrison University (LGU), University of Central Punjab (UCP), and Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).

NBEAC has three main functions: accreditation, training and networking. In its accreditation function, it develops and implements standards to improve the quality of business education in Pakistan. In its training function, it provides opportunities to faculty and managers to learn about quality standards and related matters. In its networking function, it provides a forum for business education professionals to learn from each other through conferences and seminars.
