The Ninth Eligibility Screening Committee Meeting of National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) was held on March 11, 2020 at Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad (Skype). The meeting was moderated by Ms. Sania Tufail, Senior Program Manager, NBEAC. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the eligibility of 07 registration applications received.
The meeting commenced with Mr. Ahtesham Ali Raja (Program Director, NBEAC) welcoming the committee members. Ms. Sania Tufail (Program Manager, NBEAC) briefed the committee regarding the agenda items which were then discussed in detail by the committee. The committee members appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of the secretariat regarding desk review of registration applications. The committee was presented with the registration applications and the initial desk review reports of 07 universities for the purpose of reviewing whether the universities were eligible to enter the next stage of Accreditation process. Committee member discussed 07 applications along with the supporting documents which were shared with them in advance. Out of these, 05 cases were eligible to commence the self-assessment reports, whereas 02 cases were subject to the provision of documents.
Dr. Naukhez Sarwar (Vice Chairman, NBEAC), Dr. Zahoor Hassan Syed (Professor, LUMS), Dr. Irfan Hyder (Dean, CBM, Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi), Dr. Imran Wazir (Associate Professor, Institute of Management Sciences, Peshawar), Dr. Tariq Ahmed (Dean, BUITEMS, Quetta), Dr. Naveda Kitchlew (Associate Dean, University of Management & Technology, Lahore), Mr. Ahtesham Ali Raja (Program Director, NBEAC), Ms. Sania Tufail (Senior Program Manager, NBEAC), Mr. Usman Jadoon (Assistant Manager Accreditation, NBEAC) and Muhammad Irfan khan (Assistant Manager Accreditation, NBEAC), were present during the session.

NBEAC has three main functions: accreditation, training and networking. In its accreditation function, it develops and implements standards to improve the quality of business education in Pakistan. In its training function, it provides opportunities to faculty and managers to learn about quality standards and related matters. In its networking function, it provides a forum for business education professionals to learn from each other through conferences and seminars.
